Watch live music in someone else’s living room

Living Room Live Music

If the idea of leaving your sofa to go and enjoy live music fills you with dread, why not bring the experience to you? Sofar Sounds host intimate gigs in intimate settings. And we mean intimate – anything from someone’s lounge to an old abandoned train carriage.

The idea is to bring audience and performer together without the big gig distractions of punters talking or fiddling with their mobiles. Over 330 cities around the world have already hosted events, including Dundee, Belfast, Winchester, Cardiff, London and Truro.

People can offer up their room as a venue or, if you’re in a band, submit a video on their website (sofarsounds.com) to follow in the footsteps of previous performers like AKA George (pictured), Bastille, Emeli Sandé and Wolf Alice.

You can sign up to go to a local event and be notified of the secret location in the week of the gig and enjoy music as it should be enjoyed – up close and personal. Events are mostly ‘bring your own booze’, so there are no bar queues to annoy you either!
